Bosnia’s Foreign Minister discusses party shifts; Serbia’s Vučić faces skepticism at Tivt summit

Bosnia’s foreign minister Elmedin Konaković, who also chairs the Narod i pravda party, spoke about recent political developments in the country and the Zeničko‑dobojski canton. He mentioned the return of NK Čelik to the First League, denied rumours that Amra Babić would leave NiP for Fuad Kasumović’s BHI‑KF, addressed the departure of Harun Čolić from NiP, and outlined plans to reorganise the party ahead of the 2026 general election. Konaković also referred to the future of the Office of the High Representative, Bosnia’s EU integration path, ongoing political blockades and the influence of Russia.

Long‑time foreign‑policy analyst Mirjana Rakić commented on the recent summit in Tivt, noting that no declaration is expected and the meeting mainly serves as a forum for discussion. She said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić attended to showcase himself but doubts remain about his credibility, cited former US President Donald Trump’s sharing of Vučić’s interview, and referred to Trump’s recent China visit. Rakić also observed that the war in Ukraine has surprised Russian leader Vladimir Putin due to Ukrainian resilience and drone capabilities.
