Bosnia’s pension authority posts eight Travnik jobs as employment agency draws audit criticism over costly retired tutor

The Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (MIO/PIO) issued a public notice for eight permanent positions in the Travnik region of Central Bosnia Canton, covering the County Administrative Service in Travnik and branch offices in Donji Vakuf, Novi Travnik and Bugojno. The advertised roles include an administrative‑technical referent, archivist, pension‑payments referent, collaborator‑assembler, porter‑telephonist and heads of the three branch offices. Applications must be submitted within eight days of the notice.

The Agency for Labor and Employment (Azra) came under auditor scrutiny after it hired a retired employee on two short‑term contracts (30 and 45 days) to train a new technical secretary, paying her a total of 7,200 KM. Auditors warned that such private‑contract arrangements for training staff should not be standard practice in Bosnian institutions, noting the expense exceeded the agency’s overall contract‑work budget for the year.
