Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swimming Race concludes in Istanbul
The 38th Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swimming Race was held in Istanbul, featuring approximately 2,500 athletes from 64 different countries. Organized by the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) in coordination with various government bodies and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the event saw swimmers traverse a 6.5-kilometer course from Kanlıca to Kuruçeşme.
In the men's general classification, Selim Oğuz secured first place with a time of 51 minutes and 13 seconds. The women's general classification was won by Su İnal, who finished in 54 minutes and 54 seconds.
Extensive security measures were implemented to ensure athlete safety, including the deployment of the Coast Guard, Marine Police, and over 100 water-based security units such as boats and guide vessels. TMOK President Veli Ozan Çakır noted that the event was completed without major incidents and expressed pride in the organization's long-standing history.
