Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department offers free rifle range days

The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department will host free rifle range days next month to assist hunters in sighting in their deer rifles before the upcoming hunting season.

The range will be open to the public on September 12, September 19, and September 26, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on each day. The facility features 12 shooting lanes with targets positioned at 100, 200, 300, and 400 yards.

While the service is free and basic targets will be provided, participants must bring their own weapons and ammunition. Sheriff Whittington noted that deputies will be present to ensure safety and assist community members. The range is located south of the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy on Old Plain Dealing Road.
