Boston Bruins bolster goaltending depth as forward Mikey Eyssimont reflects on season

The Boston Bruins have increased their goaltending depth ahead of the upcoming NHL season, now carrying six goalies under contract – four current Boston players and two drafted in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. The primary tandem includes veteran starter Jeremy Swayman and young prospect Michael DiPietro, while the remaining goalies are prospects with limited NHL experience.

Forward Mikey Eyssimont, who posted eight goals and 18 points in 56 games last season, discussed his limited role and the challenges he faced. He said, “I was chomping at the bit to get in… I’m proud of myself and all the people in my life.” Eyssimont hopes to improve his contributions as the Bruins look to upgrade after a playoff exit.

These roster moves come as part of the Bruins’ broader effort to address depth concerns across the lineup ahead of training camp and the regular season.
