Boston Bruins face defensive scrutiny amid strong season start

The Boston Bruins have maintained a strong start to the season, holding a 10-4-1 record and leading the Atlantic Division. Despite recent successes, including a comeback overtime victory against the Chicago Blackhawks, the team has faced criticism regarding defensive consistency. In that matchup, the Bruins allowed 41 shots and required 37 saves from goaltender Michael DiPietro to secure the win.

The team is entering a period with a heavy home schedule at TD Garden, playing 12 of their next 14 games in Boston. This stretch includes a matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights and the debut of the team’s new brown “Varsity Sweater” third jerseys. Additionally, the team is preparing for a jersey retirement ceremony for Patrice Bergeron in early December.
