Boston Bruins manage roster shifts and player discipline
Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm is managing roster shifts and player discipline following a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
Young center Matt Poitras has capitalized on increased playing time. After missing early games due to a lower-body injury, Poitras has moved into a top-six role due to injuries to other players. He has recorded five points in six games and extended a scoring streak to three games, including a primary assist in the win against Los Angeles.
In contrast, defenseman Nikita Zadorov was designated as a healthy scratch for the game against the Kings. Sturm cited a need for improved on-ice discipline after Zadorov received consecutive penalties in a previous game against the Anaheim Ducks. Zadorov expressed feeling ‘disgusted’ by the decision but noted that he views the situation as ‘a business’ and remains emotionally invested in the team.
