Boston Bruins players and legends make headlines in Slovakia and contract discussions

Former Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron recently participated in a star-studded farewell event in Trenčín, Slovakia, honoring former captain Zdeno Chara. During the exhibition game, Bergeron reunited with former teammates David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand, scoring three goals in the process. Following the game, Pastrnak playfully asked Bergeron if he would consider playing one more year, though Bergeron laughed off the suggestion.

Bergeron, who retired in July 2023, is scheduled for induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November as part of the Class of 2026. The Bruins also announced that his No. 37 jersey will be raised to the rafters at TD Garden during the upcoming season.

Separately, Boston Bruins center Pavel Zacha is facing potential contract discussions as he approaches unrestricted free agency in less than 11 months. Following a breakout season where he recorded a career-high 30 goals, Zacha has established himself as a top center for the team.
