Boston Bruins rookie James Hagens eyes NHL roster spot

The Boston Bruins are preparing for training camp and a rookie showcase, with significant attention focused on young talent such as James Hagens. Hagens, the former Boston College standout and seventh overall pick in the 2025 draft, is aiming to secure a full-time NHL roster spot during the shortened camp.

Hagens noted that he feels in the best physical condition of his career following a summer spent training with the team's staff and players. However, he acknowledged the challenge of making an impression within a limited timeframe due to the condensed schedule and the presence of several waiver-eligible players competing for roster positions.

Other discussions surrounding the Bruins' upcoming camp include the team's captaincy decisions involving David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy, as well as the roster outlook for goaltending and depth.
