Boston Celtics acquire Paul George and draft picks in Jaylen Brown trade

Following the trade of Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics received Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks. The package includes an unprotected 2031 first-round pick from Philadelphia that is guaranteed to Boston.

The Celtics also secured two second-round picks: one that will be the most favorable among the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, and Oklahoma City Thunder, and another that will be the most favorable among the Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, and Washington Wizards.

The 2028 first-round pick involves complex protections. The LA Clippers' 2028 first-round pick is protected for selections 1-16. If the pick falls within that range, Boston holds rights to swap specific picks involving the San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia, depending on whether certain picks meet their own protection criteria.
