Boston Celtics guarantee Jordan Walsh's 2026‑27 contract

The Boston Celtics have fully guaranteed third‑year forward Jordan Walsh’s $2.4 million contract for the 2026‑27 season, locking him in for another year on the payroll. Walsh, a 6‑foot‑6 combo forward drafted in the second round out of Arkansas, appeared in 68 games (25 starts) last season, averaging 5.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 17.8 minutes and shooting 50.9% from the field and 38.4% from three‑point range. Known for his elite defense, he still has notable gaps in his offensive game, which he said he is working to improve.

Walsh’s role on a Celtics roster that includes Jayson Tatum, Paul George and a deep wing group will depend on his ability to expand his scoring options and earn consistent minutes. The contract guarantee was announced on July 20, ensuring his salary is set for the upcoming season while the team evaluates his development.
