Boston Celtics prepare for 2026–27 NBA season after major roster changes

The Boston Celtics enter the 2026–27 NBA season following a 4–0 preseason performance and significant roster changes. Following a first-round playoff loss to the Philadelphia 76ers last season, the Celtics front office executed a major trade, sending Jaylen Brown to the 76ers in exchange for Paul George.

Key storylines for the upcoming season center on Jayson Tatum, who is expected to lead the team following his return from a ruptured Achilles tendon. Analysts suggest Tatum may pursue an MVP run as the primary offensive and leadership figure. The roster has also been bolstered by the free-agent signings of Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley.

With the addition of Paul George, the Celtics are positioned as major contenders in a highly competitive Eastern Conference. Predictions for the season include the possibility of Boston winning the Eastern Conference title.
