Boston Celtics rebuild focuses on Paul George and veteran depth

Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has detailed the strategic reasoning behind the team’s recent roster reconstruction. Following the trade of Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Celtics have integrated three key veterans to address specific positional needs.

Paul George is expected to take on a primary role alongside Jayson Tatum. Stevens highlighted George’s intelligence, versatility, and long-term impact on winning as essential qualities for the nine-time All-Star. To bolster the frontcourt, the team signed Mitchell Robinson, an NBA champion, to provide a physical presence at center and stabilize the position.

Additionally, the Celtics signed 39-year-old Mike Conley to a one-year veteran minimum contract.
