Boston Celtics to honor Jaylen Brown with tribute in January

The Boston Celtics have announced plans to honor Jaylen Brown with a tribute video during the Philadelphia 76ers' visit to TD Garden on January 21, 2027. The organization decided to postpone the recognition, which celebrates Brown’s decade-long tenure and his accomplishments as a former NBA Finals MVP, rather than holding it during his recent preseason return to Boston.

Following Brown’s offseason trade to Philadelphia, the Celtics are navigating a roster transition. While veteran players like Jayson Tatum, Paul George, and Derrick White are expected to lead the team, attention is turning toward young players who may see increased roles. Hugo Gonzalez, a 20-year-old Spanish wing, has emerged as a potential breakout candidate following strong preseason performances, averaging 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
