Boston College athletics prepare for new seasons in hockey and basketball

Boston College athletics are entering new phases across multiple programs. In men’s hockey, the Eagles are set to begin their season this Friday at Conte Forum against the Alaska Nanooks. Alaska enters the matchup with a 0-2 record after recent losses to Boston University, while Boston College faces questions regarding their starting goaltender between returning sophomore Louka Cloutier and freshman Leo Henriquez.

In men’s basketball, first-year head coach Luke Murray introduced a new roster at the 2026 ACC Tipoff in Charlotte. Seeking to end the program’s long NCAA Tournament drought, Murray is managing a significant roster overhaul featuring 13 new players, 11 of whom are transfers. The coaching staff is focused on building connectivity among players from diverse backgrounds to shift the program’s competitive perception.
