Duke football secures bowl eligibility with blowout win over Boston College

The Duke Blue Devils earned bowl eligibility for the fifth consecutive season following a dominant 47-2 victory over the Boston College Eagles at Wallace Wade Stadium. The win moves Duke to a 6-2 overall record and 3-2 in ACC play.

Running back Nate Sheppard delivered a historic performance, setting a school record with five rushing touchdowns in a single game. Sheppard also reached a new single-season program record with 18 total touchdowns. The Duke defense was equally impactful, recording six sacks and 11 tackles for loss while holding Boston College to just 213 total yards of offense.

Boston College, which fell to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC, managed only two points via a 100-yard return of a blocked extra-point kick.
