Boston Legacy FC delays White Stadium debut to 2028
Boston Legacy FC has announced that the club will delay its move to the renovated White Stadium until 2028. Consequently, the team will play its 2027 National Women’s Soccer League home matches at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
The decision follows a ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court that cleared the legal path for the White Stadium renovation project to proceed. While construction is currently underway with crews working six days a week on structural steel and utilities, the updated timeline pushes the debut at the new venue back from its original 2026 target.
Once completed, the transformed White Stadium will feature 10,500 permanent seats, a natural grass playing surface, and modern amenities. The project is also designed to increase public access for Boston Public Schools from 35 to 105 hours per week. In the interim, the club will continue to utilize facilities in Rhode Island and has previously played matches at Gillette Stadium.
