Boston Public Library hosts film series on voter rights

The True North Action Alliance Boston is hosting the ‘Good Trouble Film Series,’ a four-part documentary and community discussion program focused on voter rights ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

On September 10, the series will feature a screening of the 2025 documentary ‘Democracy Under Siege’ at the Copley Square Branch of the Boston Public Library. Directed by Laura Nix, the film examines threats to American democracy through commentary from figures such as historian Heather Cox Richardson and Representative Jamie Raskin. The screening will be followed by a virtual discussion featuring Nix and Jerren Chang, president and CEO of Partners in Democracy.

The series previously included screenings of ‘Love, Joy & Power: Tools for Liberation’ and ‘Lightwalkers.’ It is scheduled to conclude in late October with a screening of ‘Minnesota Neighbors: Not In Our Town’ at WBUR CitySpace.
