Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox announce multiple minor‑league promotions

The Cincinnati Reds promoted five players from their Dayton Dragons to Double‑A Chattanooga: catcher Alfredo Duno, infielder Carlos Sanchez, infielder/outfielder Carter Graham, outfielder Kien Vu and right‑handed pitcher Jose Montero. The Reds highlighted Duno’s improvement after a slow start to the season and Graham’s strong power numbers that earned him the promotion.

The Boston Red Sox organization moved catcher Franklin Primera from the Florida Complex League to Low‑A Salem after a hot start that included a .427/.549/.718 slash line, eight home runs and 29 RBIs in his first 32 games. The club also signed veteran catcher Andrew Knizner to a minor‑league contract, adding him to the Worcester roster. Additional minor‑league notes mentioned players of the week and other Boston affiliates’ contributions.

Both teams’ moves reflect ongoing adjustments to their farm systems as the 2024 minor‑league season progresses.
