Boston Red Sox expected to trade Jarren Duran this offseason
The Boston Red Sox are expected to attempt a trade for outfielder Jarren Duran during the upcoming winter offseason. Despite a difficult 2026 season in which Duran recorded a .207 batting average and a .620 OPS, the organization is reportedly planning to tender him a one-year contract for 2027 rather than non-tendering him.
Estimates suggest Duran’s tendered contract could be approximately $11.1 million. While the team is expected to seek a trade, finding an adequate return has proven difficult in previous attempts. If a deal is not reached, Duran will remain under team control for another season, providing depth to an outfield group that includes Roman Anthony, Wilyer Abreu, and Ceddanne Rafaela.
Although his offensive production declined, Duran maintained value through his combination of power and speed, hitting 20 home runs and stealing 21 bases during his recent campaign.
