Boston Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet suffers latest injury setback

Boston Red Sox left‑hander Garrett Crochet remains on the 15‑day injured list after the team placed him there on April 25 because of left‑shoulder inflammation. He had been working his way back, reaching a live‑batting‑practice session and posting a 3‑3 record with a 6.30 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 37 strikeouts over 30 innings before the injury.

During a recent throwing session Crochet felt lat tightness on his left side. He described the sensation as minor, saying it “doesn’t even deserve the title” of a setback, and promptly stopped the workout. The pitcher is undergoing MRI imaging this week to assess the issue. He told reporters the tightness is not painful and emphasized caution, adding that he is not close to returning to game action. The Red Sox await the MRI results before adjusting his recovery timeline, hoping to have him back healthy for the second half of the season.
