Adley Rutschman hits two home runs in Red Sox win over Orioles

Adley Rutschman led the Boston Red Sox to a 6-5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in his first game back at Camden Yards since being traded to Boston in August. Returning to his former club, Rutschman received a standing ovation from the Baltimore crowd and a video tribute before hitting two solo home runs in the first and sixth innings.

The Orioles initially held a 3-1 lead following back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning by Luis Robert Jr. and Pete Alonso. However, the Red Sox rallied, tying the game in the seventh and eventually taking the lead in the eighth inning when Nick Sogard hit a two-run home run.

Despite a late ninth-inning home run by Baltimore’s Christian Encarnacion-Strand, the Red Sox secured the win with a save from Aroldis Chapman. The loss leaves the Orioles 1.5 games out of the final American League wild-card spot.
