Boston Red Sox Revamp Bullpen, Promote Burgos and Release La Sorsa

The Boston Red Sox shuffled their relief corps on Thursday. Left‑hander Raymond Burgos was promoted from Triple‑A Worcester to the major‑league roster, while right‑hander Greg Weissert was optioned back to Worcester. In a separate move, the club released left‑handed reliever Joe La Sorsa, who had appeared in one game for Boston after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier in the season.

The changes come as Boston rides a seven‑game winning streak and boasts a bullpen ERA of 2.90, the best in the majors since 1945. Manager Chad Tracy indicated the roster adjustments reflect the team's improving health and evolving pitching strategy.
