Midfielder Danilo, 25, took part in Botafogo's training session on 20 July as the club prepares for its next Serie A match against Vitória. His future at the Rio de Janeiro club remains undefined, with Botafogo saying it is not rushing a sale. Palmeiras has reiterated interest in bringing the player back, while Russian side Zenit has also been linked to a possible move.
Danilo arrived at Botafogo last year for €22 million from Nottingham Forest and has featured in 26 games this season, scoring 11 goals. However, his limited 44 minutes of World Cup action and recent performances have reduced his market value. Botafogo had hoped to sell him abroad for around €40 million but is now seeking the most profitable deal possible. The club noted that if Danilo appears in another league match he would exceed the 12‑game limit that would prevent a transfer within the same season.
