Hakim Ziyech signs with Botafogo through 2028

Botafogo has officially announced the signing of Moroccan international winger Hakim Ziyech on a contract running until December 2028. The 33-year-old arrives as a free agent following his departure from Wydad Casablanca.

Ziyech, who has played for major European clubs including Ajax, Chelsea, and Galatasaray, was received by fans at Rio de Janeiro's Galeão Airport. While the arrival was marked by enthusiastic celebrations from supporters, some reports noted logistical delays and friction between organized fan groups and the press during the reception.

The midfielder is expected to wear the number 22 shirt. Following his medical examinations, the technical staff plans to have him undergo approximately two weeks of specific training to regain match fitness and integrate into the squad.
