Botafogo negotiates Luiz Henrique return from Zenit

Botafogo is working to repatriate forward Luiz Henrique from the Russian club Zenit. While the club has formalized a salary proposal, the offer has not yet met the expectations of the player or his representatives.

To facilitate the deal and reduce the need for direct cash payments, Botafogo is considering a complex negotiation involving other players. The club is evaluating the possibility of including midfielder Danilo and young player Kadir in the transaction to satisfy Zenit's requirements. Danilo has reportedly shown more openness to a move to Russia, despite previously expressing interest in English football.

The pursuit of Luiz Henrique is supported internally by investor Gabriel de Alba and association president João Paulo Magalhães, following the player's significant contributions to Botafogo's 2024 Campeonato Brasileiro and Libertadores titles. However, negotiations remain challenging due to Zenit's high demands and the financial constraints currently facing Botafogo during its transition to new ownership.
