Botafogo-PB secures Série C playoff spot with comeback win

Botafogo-PB secured early qualification for the Série C access playoffs following a 3-1 comeback victory against Guarani at Estádio Almeidão. Despite falling behind in the first half to a goal by João Paulo, the Paraíba side dominated the second period with goals from Lucas Cândido, Rodolfo, and Nenê.

The win moves Botafogo-PB to 30 points, placing them temporarily at the top of the table and extending their unbeaten streak to ten matches. Guarani remains in fifth place with 27 points, still fighting to secure a spot in the top eight.

As the first phase of the tournament nears its end, Brusque and Botafogo-PB are the only teams to have mathematically guaranteed their positions in the decisive quadrangular. Meanwhile, in the relegation battle, Confiança has been officially relegated to Série D. The final round of the first phase is scheduled for Saturday, August 29.
