Botafogo plans infrastructure upgrades for Nilton Santos Stadium

Botafogo's SAF is planning improvements to the services and infrastructure of the Nilton Santos Stadium following numerous fan complaints regarding the experience during matches and events. The club has acknowledged that current standards are below desired levels and has made improving the public experience a priority in weekly meetings.

Changes to the facilities are expected to become noticeable to the public by early 2027. Botafogo has held the rights to manage the stadium since 2007, and while a previous extension to 2051 was canceled, the club maintains exclusive operating rights for games and commercial activities until a new public bidding process occurs in 2031.
