Tiquinho Soares returns to Botafogo with contract through 2026

Botafogo has officially announced the return of 35-year-old striker Tiquinho Soares. The center-forward, who previously helped the club win the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship, has signed a contract valid until the end of the 2026 season.

Soares returns to the Rio de Janeiro club after stints with Santos and Mirassol. To facilitate the deal, the player accepted a significant salary reduction, with reports indicating his new monthly earnings will be between R$ 100,000 and R$ 200,000. During his official presentation at Nilton Santos Stadium, Soares expressed his emotional connection to the club and his motivation for this new chapter.

In addition to Soares' return, Botafogo is actively pursuing the signing of Luiz Henrique from Zenit. However, negotiations are reportedly complex due to financial disagreements and the potential involvement of player Danilo in the deal to satisfy the Russian club's requirements.
