Botafogo sells Elias Manoel to Club Tijuana

Botafogo has transferred striker Elias Manoel to Mexico's Club Tijuana. The move is cost‑free for the Mexican side, but the Brazilian club retained a percentage of any future sale, hoping to profit from the player's potential appreciation. Botafogo originally paid about US$1 million (R$5.7 million) for the forward when he arrived from New York Red Bulls in early 2025.

Manoel struggled to secure a regular place at Botafogo, featuring in only six matches and spending a spell on loan at Portugal's Santa Clara. The transfer coincides with former Botafogo legend Loco Abreu now coaching at Tijuana, a factor the club believes may aid the player's adaptation and performance in the Liga MX.
