Botafogo-SP escapes relegation, Vila Nova tops table, ASA comeback win in Brazil's lower leagues

Botafogo-SP defeated Avaí 3‑1 on July 6 in the 16th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, moving up to 14th place with 19 points and leaving the relegation zone. Goals came from Everton Morelli, Hygor and Patrick Brey, while Wallison scored for Avaí.

Vila Nova secured a 2‑1 victory over São Bernardo in the same round, with Janderson scoring the winner in the second half. The win lifted the club to 31 points, placing them alone at the top of the Série B table.

In the Série D, ASA rallied from a 1‑0 deficit to beat Ivinhema 2‑1 at the Saraivão stadium. Rodolfo opened the scoring, Wesley equalised, and Michel Douglas netted the winner, giving ASA an advantage for the upcoming second leg.
