Botafogo-SP secures Série B survival with win over Avaí

Botafogo-SP defeated Avaí 2-0 at the Ressacada stadium in Florianópolis during the 35th round of the Brazilian Série B. Goals from Morelli in the 43rd minute of the first half and Leandro Maciel in the 8th minute of the second half secured the victory.

With this win, Botafogo-SP has mathematically confirmed its stay in the competition for next year, moving up to 12th place with 47 points. This victory marks the team's fourth consecutive win in the tournament.

Conversely, the loss leaves Avaí with 37 points, placing them in the relegation zone. The club's chances of avoiding relegation are now considered nearly irreversible, as they would need to win their remaining three matches and rely on specific combinations of other results to stay in the division.
