Botev Plovdiv announces changes to Board of Directors

The management structure of the Bulgarian football club Botev Plovdiv has undergone significant changes. Iliyan Filipov, previously known as the club’s financial benefactor, has been officially registered in the Commercial Register as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The new Board of Directors consists of three members: Iliyan Filipov, businessman Dimitar Demirov, and Nikolay Iliev. This restructuring follows the departure of former board members Ilko Koparanski and Vasil Bosneski, the latter of whom also served as executive director.

The leadership changes have drawn criticism from former executive director Konstantin Ganev. Ganev publicly challenged Filipov, noting that the move contradicts previous notarized declarations in which Filipov stated that neither he nor his relatives would ever own shares or participate in the management of the club.
