Botev Plovdiv signs Stanislav Shopov on loan from Osijek

Botev Plovdiv has announced the return of academy product Stanislav Shopov. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder joins the club on loan from Croatian side NK Osijek until the end of the current season, with an option for a permanent transfer.

Shopov, who has represented the Bulgarian national team, previously played for CSKA Sofia before moving abroad to Heerenveen in the Netherlands and Osijek in Croatia. His time in Croatia was marked by a significant injury that limited his appearances to 14 matches. The transfer comes after Botev Plovdiv reportedly competed with several European clubs to secure the player's return to his home club.
