Botoșani Public Health Directorate struggles to recruit specialist physicians

The Botoșani Public Health Directorate (DSP Botoșani) is struggling to fill critical medical positions despite offering competitive salaries. The institution is seeking candidates for roles within the health evaluation and promotion department, as well as the epidemiological surveillance and communicable disease control department.

Teodor Ferariu, director of DSP Botoșani, noted that the position in the Epidemiology department remains vacant even after a second recruitment attempt. While the starting salary for a specialist physician is approximately 12,600 lei, Ferariu explained that the lack of additional bonuses compared to hospital settings makes these roles less attractive. Furthermore, private family doctors with their own practices often earn significantly higher incomes through contracts with the Health Insurance House.
