Botswana and Nigeria secure African table tennis hosting rights

Botswana has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2027 ITTF-Africa Youth Championships. The decision was announced during the ITTF-Africa Annual General Meeting in Tangier, Morocco, where Botswana beat bids from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola to secure the event, which is scheduled for July 2027.

In a separate development, Nigeria has secured the rights to host the 2028 Africa Championships. Nigeria emerged victorious in a bidding process against Tunisia. Supporters of the Nigerian bid emphasized the country’s extensive experience in organizing international competitions since 2014 and the importance of providing hosting opportunities to the western part of the continent.
