Botswana athletes secure multiple medals in regional sports competitions

Botswana athletes achieved notable success in regional competitions across darts and swimming. At the Region 5 Darts Tournament, the national team finished second overall, securing medals in every category. Notable performances included silver medals in the Under-25 closed team game and open doubles, as well as various silver and bronze finishes in the veterans, senior women, and senior men categories.

In swimming, Team Botswana had a strong opening day at the Africa Aquatics Zone IV Championships, earning six medals: two gold, three silver, and one bronze. Melodi Saleshando secured gold in the girls’ 15-16 50m breaststroke and an additional silver, while Mmusi Matthews won gold in the boys’ 17 and over 50m breaststroke.
