Botswana School of Business Sciences and BNYC launch ICT training for youth

The Botswana School of Business Sciences (BAC) and the Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC) have completed a joint ICT certification programme aimed at equipping out-of-school youth with essential digital skills.

In commemoration of World Youth Skills Day 2026, the five-day training initiative targeted fourteen young people from the Bontleng and Old Naledi areas of Gaborone. Facilitated by lecturers from the BAC School of Computing and Information Systems, the curriculum covered digital literacy, Microsoft Office applications, artificial intelligence, CV writing, and online professional profiling to enhance employability and entrepreneurship.

The programme concluded with a certification ceremony in Gaborone. To support ongoing community development and digital access, BAC donated eight computers to the BNYC Computer Laboratory. The initiative is part of BAC’s Corporate Social Responsibility framework, focusing on bridging the digital skills gap and preparing youth for a technology-driven economy.
