Bottegone to implement hydraulic-urban project for flood mitigation

An agreement has been signed between the Municipality of Pistoia and the Consorzio di Bonifica 3 Medio Valdarno to implement a hydraulic-urban project in Bottegone. The initiative, supported by the Tuscany Region, involves the creation of an urban garden designed to serve as a water self-containment area.

The project aims to mitigate hydraulic risks in the area, specifically addressing drainage issues caused by the Ombroncello ditch. During intense weather events, the ditch often loses its capacity to manage stormwater, leading to localized flooding and stagnation. The new green space will act as a buffer to manage excess water when main watercourses reach capacity.
