Bottrop police seize Audi SQ8 over unpaid debts
During a large-scale law enforcement operation on Essener Straße in Bottrop, Germany, authorities seized an Audi SQ8 due to outstanding debts exceeding 10,000 euros. The vehicle was impounded after the owner was unable to settle the amount on-site.
The joint operation by the city of Bottrop and the Recklinghausen Police targeted 33 high-end vehicles valued at over 100,000 euros. Beyond the vehicle seizure, the four-hour checkpoint resulted in several other legal actions, including criminal proceedings for two vehicles lacking mandatory insurance and another vehicle being impounded due to unauthorized technical modifications.
Officers also identified two e-scooters with insufficient insurance and initiated criminal proceedings against a driver suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol after approaching a gas station at high speed.
