Botucatu launches real-time bus tracking app

The city of Botucatu has launched the Cittamobi mobile application, allowing passengers to track the municipal public transport system in real time. The free tool is available for both Android and iOS devices.

Users can access information regarding the 32 municipal lines, including vehicle locations via map, estimated arrival times at specific stops, and detailed itineraries. The implementation aims to provide greater predictability for the approximately 16,000 daily passengers, helping them plan commutes and reduce waiting times at bus stops.

The initiative follows a request from local council members to make existing GPS monitoring data accessible to the public. The platform was implemented by the concessionaire companies responsible for the service with oversight from Semutran.
