Botulinum toxin trends shift toward hair care and natural facial aesthetics

Cosmetic trends involving botulinum toxin and similar treatments are seeing shifts in both hair care and facial aesthetics. In hair care, ‘hair botox’ has gained popularity on social media. Despite the name, the treatment does not use actual botulinum toxin; instead, it is a nutrient-rich mixture containing amino acids, proteins, and vitamins designed to make hair appear smoother, shinier, and more disciplined. While effective for treating dry or chemically damaged hair, experts note the effects are cosmetic and temporary.

In facial aesthetics, a trend known as ‘filler sobriety’ is emerging among celebrities. High-profile figures such as Nicole Kidman and Ariana Grande have spoken about moving away from botulinum toxin and fillers to regain natural facial expressions. Other celebrities, including Kate Winslet and Monica Bellucci, have long advocated for natural beauty, opting to avoid treatments that might freeze facial mimicry or alter their natural features.
