United States pledges $5.1 million to Serbia for mine clearance
The United States has pledged an additional $5.1 million to Serbia to support mine clearance efforts. During a visit to the Center for Mine Action Serbia alongside President Aleksandar Vučić, US Ambassador Titolo noted that total American assistance for demining in the country has now exceeded $29 million. This funding aims to address remaining contaminated areas, following successful clearing in 17 municipalities, including Kopaonik National Park.
President Vučić emphasized the importance of the strategic dialogue between the US and Serbia, stating that maintaining strong relations with Washington is vital for the country's future. He expressed optimism regarding the partnership, noting its impact on local communities and the energy sector, while also addressing security concerns in Kosovo.
Separately, various regional educational developments were noted, including the reconstruction of the Vladika Danilo school in Botun, Montenegro, and significant investments in the Stojan Cerović Gymnasium in Nikšić, Montenegro. In Serbia, President Vučić conducted a working visit to the Mačva District, visiting several municipalities to discuss local infrastructure and agricultural matters.
