Botun wastewater treatment plant construction on track for year-end milestone

Rough construction work on the wastewater treatment plant in Botun is expected to be completed by the end of the year. According to Nišavić, approximately 30 percent of the planned works have been finished so far, including the concrete foundations in the receiving station and the reinforcement and concreting of biological pool walls.

Following the completion of heavy construction, the project will move into the equipment installation phase next year. Testing of the system is scheduled to begin in January 2028. To ensure the project meets its deadlines, the workforce on-site has increased from 50 to approximately 130 employees. Nišavić defended the pace of work against claims of compromised quality, stating that strict supervision and quality control measures are in place.
