Botun wastewater treatment plant construction reaches 70 percent concrete completion
Construction of the wastewater treatment plant in Botun has reached a significant milestone, with 70 percent of concrete works now completed. Aleksandar Nišavić, director of Vodovod, reported that while excavation for all units is 100 percent finished, the pouring of concrete surfaces and reinforcement is ongoing. Currently, over 140 workers are on-site, with more than 1,000 cubic meters of concrete being poured weekly.
The project is moving toward the equipment installation phase, which is expected to begin in the first quarter of next year. Much of the necessary equipment is already being stored in Podgorica. The project aims to begin testing the first and second phases, which include wastewater connection and sludge treatment, by the end of 2027, with a gradual entry into the testing phase starting in January 2028.
