Bouaké Cardiology Institute performs first coronary angiographies
The Bouaké Cardiology Institute (ICB) successfully conducted its first three coronary angiographies on October 16, 2026. This medical milestone marks a significant step toward the full operational capacity of the facility.
The procedures, which use imaging to detect narrowing or obstructions in the coronary arteries, were performed by Professor N’Guetta Roland and Ms. Samandé Mariam from the Abidjan Cardiology Institute (ICA), assisted by Dr. Vy Légré of the ICB. The operations were supervised by ICB Director General Professor Yangni-Angaté Koffi Hervé.
Following the launch of outpatient consultations in July 2026, this new capability provides residents of Bouaké, the Gbêkê region, and central Côte d'Ivoire with local access to essential cardiac diagnostics. This development is expected to reduce the need for long and costly travel to Abidjan for specialized cardiovascular care.
