Bouaké undergoes strategic urban transformation under Amadou Koné

The city of Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire, is undergoing a strategic transformation known as ‘Bouaké Nouveau’. Led by Minister-Mayor Amadou Koné and aligned with President Alassane Ouattara’s national development vision, the initiative aims to transition the city from a site of past crises to a modern economic and cultural hub.

Recent observations during the 7th Sub-regional Youth Forum on Peace, Security, and Human Rights, organized by ROAPDH, highlight this shift. The city has demonstrated an increased capacity to host international delegations and organize large-scale events. Improvements in urban management, specifically regarding sanitation and public space discipline, have been noted as part of the city’s efforts to reinvent its image and role within West Africa.
