Bouenza officials undergo training to improve public policy evaluation
Nearly 100 participants, including local officials, civil society members, and media professionals, gathered in Madingou, Bouenza, for a workshop titled ‘Carrefour de l’Évaluation – Madingou 2026’. The event focused on strengthening monitoring and evaluation (M&E) capacities for public policies at the departmental level.
Organized by the Congolese Evaluation Association (ACE) with support from the African Evaluation Association, the African Capacity Building Foundation, and the Ministry of State Reform and Relations with Parliament, the workshop aimed to move evaluation practices away from being solely a central government function in Brazzaville. The initiative aligns with the Strategic Plan for State Reform (PSRE 2025-2029).
The Bouenza prefect, Mr. Nganongo, emphasized that evaluation should be practiced on the ground where policies are implemented to ensure better decision-making and accountability to the population.
