Boulder Valley cities receive high national rankings
Cities in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado have received high marks in recent national rankings. Longmont and Windsor were named among the top 10 in Travel & Leisure’s list of the “Best Small U.S. Cities to Move To Right Now,” with Longmont ranking fourth and Windsor ranking sixth. Colorado was the only state to have two cities featured on this specific list.
In terms of employment, Boulder was ranked 19th on Indeed.com’s list of the “2026 Best U.S. Cities for Work.” Real estate experts note that Longmont offers a practical alternative to Boulder, providing a strong job base and extensive trail networks with more affordable housing costs. Windsor has also been highlighted for its rapid growth, high household income, and strong ratings for health, fitness, and family suitability.
Additionally, the region is recognized for its outdoor culture. Boulder County features an extensive mountain biking network, including over 120 miles of open-space trails, with notable locations such as Betasso Preserve, Marshall Mesa, and Doudy Draw.
