Boulevard Montemar project faces irregularity allegations in Concón

The Boulevard Montemar real estate project in Concón, Chile, is facing allegations of administrative irregularities. Located adjacent to the Dunas de Concón Nature Sanctuary, the development consists of two high-rise towers featuring 37 homes, 156 offices, 16 commercial premises, 103 storage units, and 149 parking spaces.

Critics, including the Fundación Defendamos la Ciudad, point to issues regarding the building permit approved in December 2016 by the acting municipal works director, Alberto Radrigán. The timing of the approval is significant because a new Communal Regulatory Plan (PRC) for Concón went into effect in May 2017. Legal concerns have been raised by local office owners regarding whether the project complied with the regulatory framework required at the time of its administration.

The controversy follows previous urban planning disputes in the area, such as the construction of the Hotel Punta Piqueros.
